A language app for English speakers

Learn a language, one remembered word at a time.

Frodi is a calm course with short lessons, picture games, stories and a review raven named Munin, who brings each word back just before you would forget it.

Paper-cut art: Odin with his ravens Hugin and Munin in front of green hills under a pale sun.

Six languages and the world

Every course starts from zero and goes unit by unit, with grammar, stories and culture notes along the way.

How it works

  1. A winding path over paper hills to a mead hall, with rune stones along the way.

    Lessons

Short lessons, unit by unit, from your first hello to B2. Each unit has its grammar, a story to read and a checkpoint at the end.

  2. Ravens flying in a V over a fjord, one carrying a picture card.

    Flights

Quick picture games to meet new words: pick the picture, match the pairs, build the word letter by letter. A word you know well flies into your review.

  3. Two ravens flying over paper mountains, each carrying a flashcard.

    Munin's review

Munin, the raven of memory, brings each word back just before you would forget it, using the FSRS scheduler. A few minutes a day keeps everything you learned.
